Staying connected: eSIM, SIM, or pocket WiFi?
Step by step
- 01
eSIM (recommended)
On a supported phone, set it up with a QR code before you leave and it works the moment you land. Easiest for solo travelers.
- 02
Pocket WiFi
For groups or multiple devices. Pick up/return at the airport or have it mailed. You carry the device and its battery.
- 03
Physical SIM
Sold at airport counters, but often pricier than an eSIM, and you swap your SIM.
- 04
Free WiFi
Available at konbini, stations, and cafes, but unreliable — don't rely on it as your main connection.
