   Which card

   For tourists, Welcome Suica or Tourist Pasmo are the go-to (regular Suica/Pasmo have had stock limits). On iPhone, Mobile Suica also works well.

   Where to buy

   Welcome Suica: JR East Travel Service Centers at Narita/Haneda. Tourist Pasmo: Keisei/Keikyu airport stations. Passport required.

   Cost

   Welcome Suica is 1,500 yen, no deposit (all of it is usable balance), valid 28 days.

4. 04

   How to use

   Tap it at gates, on buses, and at konbini and vending machines. It works in major cities nationwide (Osaka, Kyoto, Fukuoka...). Top up at machines or konbini.
